Charming Hotels, Agritourism and B&B in "Abruzzo"

Abruzzo is a wonderful place to visit in summer with the green mountains, the trails and the lakes to explore, when nature is at its full splendor, where you can find a shelter from the torrid summer weather of the other regions, but is beautiful also in winter with the rooftops full of snow transforming the landscape in a magical place.

There are three National Parks, the Parco Nazionale d’AbruzzoParco Nazionale del Gran SassoParco Nazionale della Majella, and the Parco Regionale Sirente Velino, that are the perfect example of how much this land has to offer as regards nature. In the mountains there are many protected species as the Camoscio d’Abruzzo, the Orso bruno Marsicano, the Lupo Appenninico and the Aquila reale.

In addition to the most popular places, Abruzzo has many small villages to discover, like Farindola, a small village in Pescara district. Farindola is part of the Comunità montana Vestina and of the Parco nazionale del Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga. The natural landscape of this area is breathtaking, and there are many visitors coming in the area to walk through the mountain trails and to admire the Cascate del Vitello d’oro that are 28 meters high.  The old town centre still has the remains of the medieval castle and while you’re here you can taste the typical products as the pecorino of Farindola, slow food, produced in limited quantities with ancient techniques, a real specialty. Where you will have the possibility to stay in an elegant Charming B&B.

Not far from this area there’s Manoppello village, in Pescara district,  part of the Comunità Montana della Majella e del Morrone, where we suggest you an elegant Albergo Diffuso.

The Manoppello Lake, also called Lagone,  is a small surface lake,  in which is possible to practice the latest generation water sports, like the wakeboard, for which a special facility was built, one of the few that can be found in Italy, and which has transformed this small water mirror in a modern fun place that is very popular between young locals and tourists. In this village is possible to admire the beautiful basilica del Volto Santo, dating back to the 1620, which is  a pilgrimage place, where is stored the veil that portrays the image of Christ’s face.

Now we move to L’Aquila district to discover the small village called Villetta Barrea, part of the Parco nazionale d’Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise and of the Comunità montana Alto Sangro e Altopiano delle Cinque MigliaVilletta Barrea is situated near the mountains and overlooks the beautiful Barrea Lake, surrounded by rivers and lush vegetation.

Despite the small size, the old town centre of Villetta Barrea has elegant mansions dating back to the XVII century, including the town hall, and three beautiful Churches, Santa Maria Assunta, San Michele and San Rocco.

Here you will be able to choose between a Charming Agriturismo and a warm Charming B&B.

Besides, in other regions, Charminly offers you the possibility to stay in beautiful Charming Hotels, Country Houses and Relais.
