The house, where the owners’ family will welcome you with the typical warmth of this region, is surrounded by the greenery and quiet of the Chianti countryside, not far from the village well served with everything and most importantly next to the most famous places of art, such as Florence, San Gimignano, Pisa, Siena and magnificent historical villages like Monteriggioni. Pisa and Florence airports are within easy reach, and the Florence-Siena highway is only 5 km away. It is the perfect location to set out to discover Tuscany and its artisan workshops. The owners will be happy to advise and book the itinerary you prefer to enjoy unique experiences during your stay, guided by professionals for example in ceramics, photography, coloring and decoration on silk.

Agriturismo Sovigliano, in Barberino Tavarnelle, Tuscany, stretches over twenty hectares split between vineyards, olive groves and a wooded area. This old thirteenth-century farmhouse has been tastefully renovated and furnished, preserving the style and charm of the place while providing all modern comforts. The house and the two annexes are surrounded by a garden of about one hectare with a pine forest, cypress grove and a swimming pool measuring 7×14 m, open on a seasonal basis. The green area features tables, benches and comfortable deck chairs, ideal for unwinding. A spacious loggia with a large fireplace offers space for breakfast, dinner, upon request, or simply sipping a good wine while admiring the breathtaking view of the hills. The estate boasts 4 perfectly equipped apartments and 4 well-kept and comfortable rooms, all uniquely decorated with antique furniture and prints. The Aiale apartment, located in the main house, with private terrace and garden view, very spacious and elegant, suitable for families, can accommodate 5 people. The annexes – Mansio, intimate and romantic, is recommended for couples; Verone, with private terrace, has a splendid view of the hills; Gobice, with access from the garden is suitable for those who do not like stairs. The spacious rooms used as B&Bs – Olmo, Ciliegio, Noce, Castagno – occupy a wing of the main house. They all have independent access, are double, with private bathrooms and on the second floor. They overlook the pine forest and garden on the outside, a long corridor on the inside. On the ground floor there are common areas reserved for room guests: a large kitchen with a fireplace and private refrigerator for each room, a dining area, a large living room, and a bathroom. It is possible to rent this entire wing of the house as a large apartment, while the Noce and Castagno rooms can be rented as family suites.

Agriturismo Sovigliano offers its guests produce from its lands, genuine, healthy and grown from non-pesticide-treated crops, therefore produced in limited quantities: Chianti Colli Fiorentini red wine; extra virgin olive oil, obtained from olives harvested by hand and pressed by the traditional cold method, with natural decantation; Grappa and Nocino, distilled in copper stills by the traditional method; Vin santo, aged on average 8/10 years, in oak or chestnut barrels. In the surroundings of Sovigliano, you can explore the area’s eno-gastronomic heritage by car, bicycle or Vespa, on your own or with a guide, suggested, should you wish, by the owners. You can enjoy Chianti wines, extra-virgin olive oil, craft beers, truffles and local cheeses.
