The Lake Garda, also called Benaco, is the largest lake in Italy. Its territory is divided in the western shore in Lombardia, the eastern shore in Veneto, while at the north is included in Trentino Alto Adige with Trento district.
The shore in Lombardia is included in the district of Brescia. Among the beautiful locations that overlook the lake we can find Gardone Riviera, surrounded by parks and gardens and historic villas of the 800. In town we can visit the Italians Vittoriale, which was the home of Gabriele d’Annunzio, and now is a museum. The house contains pictures, statues, ceramics, and a large library. This place is a real town that includes several buildings, streets and squares surrounded by walls, and the park is home to sculptures and artworks.
Sirmione, located on a peninsula jutting out over the lake, is famous for its healing baths since ancient times and known for its traditional cuisine based on fish. Among the points of interest there are the Scaligera Fortress and the medieval old town centre with walks and picturesque routes.
Desenzano del Garda is the largest town that overlooks the lake, with the beautiful Porto Vecchio, built during the Republic of Venice and the Castle built in the eleventh century, imposing building with four large towers, now houses exhibitions and conferences.
These and many other locations near the Lake Garda offer many possibilities of entertainment between beaches, walks, pubs, typical restaurants, but also outdoor activities such as water sports and excursions.
