Charming Hotels, Agritourism and B&B in "Planaval"

The small village of Planaval is part of the municipality of La Salle, in Aosta district, in Valle d’Aosta.

 

The village is situated in a perfect location to enjoy the beauties of the Valdigne, the Dora Baltea and the mountains Monte Paramont and La Grande Rochere. Planaval and La Salle are the favorite destinations for ski lovers who can reach several installations, while in summer the lush vegetation and the magnificent views offer a truly unique natural landscape and Planaval is the starting point for many excursions paths, among the most important ones there’s the climb on the Grande Rochere which offers an awesome view.

 

There are many routes that can be taken in the area from spring to autumn, accompanied by appropriate signs, from the most simple and short paths that last half an hour, to the longest paths, that may require more than 4 hours. The most important destinations in the area are the Torrente Colomba, the Dora Baltea, the villages of La Clusaz, La Ruine and Villair.

 

Around Planaval you can visit the ruins of Chatelard Castle built in the twelfth century to defend the valley, and near the village of Chabodey you can see the Chapel of Saints Rocco and Sebastian.

 

In the center of La Salle, the Church of San Cassiano includes the Parish Museum with the statue of the Madonna with the child from Charvaz and objects and vestments from other 18 rural chapels. Some of these like the chapels of Les Cours, Morge and Charvaz have beautiful frescoes on the facade.
