The facility is located about ten minutes from Benevento, a city that boasts a historical, artistic and archaeological heritage that has become part of the Unesco World Heritage for its Lombard vestiges, the Arch of Trajan, the Roman Theater, the Church of Santa Sofia, the Rocca dei Rettori, and the Hortus Conclusus, donated by the great international artist Mimmo Paladino. The Sannio Museum has an Egyptian section, the second most important in Italy, with pieces found in the area, as the largest cult dedicated to Isis outside Egypt took place here. It was called “City of Witches,” as in ancient times the Janare, the good country witches, used to gather on the banks of the Sabato River, which gives its name to the Witches’ Sabbath, to practice dances and propitiatory rites. Nearby, you can explore Apice vecchio, a charming, abandoned town overlooked by Hector’s Castle; Pietralcina, a beautiful stone village and birthplace of St. Pius; and the archaeological site of Althilia Saepinum. Within an hour’s drive, you can admire the Royal Palace of Caserta, Naples, Herculaneum, Pompeii, Vietri sul Mare, a magnificent resort on the Amalfi coast.

At the restaurant of Pietre di Fiume located in the old, skillfully renovated barn, you can enjoy breakfast made with local products and a four-course menu, prepared with the best products from the garden and the local area, in an atmosphere lit by candles and soft lighting. True to traditions re-imagined through modern expertise, the farm has turned to microeconomics and food, starting with organic farming with a low environmental impact, applying methods of selection, processing and packaging inspired by the past, transformed into quality products, such as wine, pasta, oil, tomato puree, honey, cooked must, jams, and sottoli. During your stay, you can set off in search of typical herbs and spices, sip an aperitif in the vineyard, take cooking classes or venture out to discover the outstanding wine and food heritage of this very ancient peasant culture, rich in festivals, fairs and traditions that have remained unchanged over the centuries.
