Be Vedetta Relais & Glamping

Poggio La Forcola 12, , , Rooms: 7+8 / Opening dates: April - October from € 220 - to € 340

Set in the woods of a rolling hill relief on the Gulf of Follonica, Be Vedetta Relais & Glamping faces the island of Elba, ten minutes from the turreted fortress of Scarlino inland and half an hour from Punta Ala and its marina. The area of the province of Grosseto, in southern Tuscany, is diverse: hilly and sometimes impervious landscape gradually yields to splendid nature reserves of pine forests, cork oaks, and coves on the coast. In Vetulonia, one of the most important cities of Etruria, 40 km from the facility, the earliest historical evidence dates back to the 11th century B.C.: significant are the monumental tombs and itineraries in the archaeological area. In Maremma, trekking lovers can enjoy many nature trails without the need to move by car.

The owner of Be Vedetta Relais & Glamping is the descendant of a historic Scarlino family who has skillfully restored her old farm, a massive property that comprises a fifteen-hectare forest and an olive grove for the production of organic extra virgin olive oil. After many years as a manager of large companies and a hectic career around the world, Anna Barberini decided to return to Tuscany, to her Maremma, to design a structure featuring various solutions that offer exclusive charm and tell the story of those places so connected to memory, emotions, characters and objects of the family. A real leitmotif that imbues all the spaces and style of the facility. The owner’s touch, tied to her many stays abroad, is evident in the details, designed to shape the rooms with the goal of maximum comfort.

Be Vedetta Relais & Glamping is perched on a private hilltop near Scarlino, in Tuscany, among olive trees and the Relaxing Pool overlooking Corsica and Elba Island. In the construction of the Relais’ seven suites, nothing was left to chance. Fine materials were used, including limestone, travertine, marble and wood: most peculiar is the chestnut parquet flooring that resembles waves with long dark resin inserts. They are all spacious, different from each other and offering amazing views, some with terraces overlooking the sea. Each is dedicated to a character, revived through the owner’s childhood memories. Warm hues in shades from beige, sand, and yellows perfectly match the family’s antique furniture, design objects and recovered art, refined and unusual furniture solutions, also from different countries. The Glamping’s eight very elegant 50-m2 lodges, each named after one of the Pleiades, dot the olive grove at due distance from each other. Lovingly and tastefully furnished with vintage photos and vintage furniture, under huge white curtains resting on white-colored wooden frames, they offer a porch suspended over the organic olive grove, sleeping area, lounging area with sofa and small tables, air conditioning, and private bathroom with walk-in shower. Wood covers walls and floors, curtains adorn large floor-to-ceiling windows. In the morning, all breakfast ingredients are prepared in a basket delivered to the lodges’ entrance porch. All suites and lodges offer absolute privacy, h24 concierge, customized farm-to-table breakfast, and all modern amenities. The RossoCorbezzolo restaurant offers, for lunch and dinner, a selection of local seasonal and garden products, creatively revisited by Chef Remo Maestrini, paired, it goes without saying, with wines selected by Sommelier Letizia Montemaggi from among the DOC wines of Maremma.
