Relais Corte Guastalla is situated among the Morainic hills of Veneto region, at a distance of approximately 12 km both from Verona, a Unesco World Heritage site, and Lake Garda, which is nestled between the Dolomites Alps and the Padan Plain. The area is renowned for its tranquillity and beautiful views: golf lovers can choose between four clubs, all within a 6 km radius, while others may want to explore the Valpolicella wine road, or trek along the Camminacustoza nature trail. Also in the vicinity of the Relais Corte Guastalla are the amusement park of Gardaland and the Sigurtà Garden Park, probably the most beautiful of Italy, that extends over 600.000 square meters of land where seasonal flowers and ponds are in large abundance, you can explore the Valpolicella Wine Route or follow the Camminacustoza natural paths itinerary, among the most evocative landscapes in Veneto region .
“In 2001 my husband Franco and I came across this splendid 16th century court lying between Verona and Lake Garda, and for both of us it was love at first sight. But after a while I found out that about 40 years earlier my veterinarian dad would bring me here when he visited the horses of the stables. Franco on the other hand is a builder who loves restoring abandoned houses to their former splendour; this property however made a special impression on him and after careful renovation it became our home, which we share with our guests. In the sitting room or under the pergola they are invited to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee; at Relais Corte Guastalla breakfast is very important, guests gather around the buffet table and choose from home-baked cakes, fresh fruit, Italian chocolate, cold meats and local cheeses. Time comes to a standstill in summer, as one sips a large cappuccino or an espresso under the tall beech moved by a morning breeze; and this is an experience that our visitors do not forget. In the evenings, at regular intervals, they are invited to sample the local gastronomy and the famous wines.”
The property extends over 12.000 square metres of trees, meadows and medicinal plants; the expanse of this land offers relaxation and tranquillity, just as the large swimming pool does. The buildings are not tall; they extend horizontally and have spacious and comfortable communal areas. The six guest rooms at Relais Corte Guastalla are all luminous, with a view of the garden, and range in size; the largest are 50 square metres. Their whitewashed walls and white bed linen harmonise with the wooden floors and the exposed beams, as well as the antique furniture and the contemporary design objects. WiFi is available in the whole house.
