B&B Le Contrade is located in the Emilia-Romagna region, and more precisely in Upper Santarcangelo di Romagna, a little jewel of a town: charming and well-preserved, it dates back to the Middle Ages and is the proud birthplace of the poet Tonino Guerra. Its location is ideal to access some key destinations of Emilia-Romagna: for instance, the popular sea resort of Rimini, the historic city of Cesena and Ravenna, famous for its splendid mosaics, are respectively 10, 20 and 44 km away. The medieval towns of Pennabilli and San Leo, with its hilltop fortress, are also well worth visiting, as is the independent city-state of San Marino Republic, only about 40 minutes in the car.
B&B Le Contrade looks out on one of the narrow stone-paved streets typical of Santarcangelo. It extends over three floors and has a well-hidden secret: a lovely garden on the roof terrace. From there, sitting comfortably on the white patio furniture, one will enjoy views over the roofs of Santarcangelo, and glimpses of San Marino and the Adriatic Riviera beyond. Indoors, the walls are light in colour, which works well with the exposed stone of the barrel vault ceiling of the breakfast room as it does with the antiques and the clean simple lines of the furniture that graces every room, including the library: the overall effect is one of warmth and comfort.
B&B Le Contrade has three spacious guestrooms made brighter by white walls and white beams on the ceilings, and white curtains too; the wide floorboard are white or in oatmeal colour, while the bed linen ranges in tint from pale brown to pale grey. The whole building has free Wi-Fi and a little car park for its guests’ convenience.
