Domus Sbirciò is a charming house in Modica, Ragusa. Located in the heart of the city between the alleys of the historic center a few steps from Corso Umberto, the house offers a perfect place from which appreciate nice corners of the city and it is precisely its architecture to offer different points of view to capture every time a different detail. DomusSbirciò is a real tribute to Modica, a city included in the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO along with other towns in the Val di Noto for its artistic and cultural heritage and architecture in Sicilian Baroque style. Among the most representative buildings you can visit the Cathedral of San Giorgio, Palazzo De Leva and the Torre dell’Orologio. In less than an hour you can reach Ragusa, known as “the city of bridges” because of the three bridges that join the three hills on which the city stands. Among several marvelous buildings you can visit the Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista, the Giardino Ibleo and Palazzo Bertini.

Domus Sbirciò has 2 suites with double bed. Both rooms are characterized by an intimate and cozy atmosphere, one includes an original bed with a concrete base, the other has a modern style bed and a large walk-in closet. A sofa bed is also available. Both rooms have a private bathroom with a bath or shower equipped with linen. A relaxation area is dedicated to rest and reading, equipped with comfortable sofas, books and flat-screen TV, with a small study with a small wall mounted table. From the relaxation area you enter the terrace. Unlike the rest of the house, the kitchen is modern and functional. It is equipped with a dining table, fridge, coffee machine, kettle and several kitchen utensils.

Domus Sbirciò has been restored inside and outside respecting the original architecture. During the restoration, they found old spaces and brought them to light, such as the cistern cave that gives character to the whole house. The main materials are the stone of Modica and the pitchstone, worked thanks to the experience of local artisans. For the furnishings they  chose simple and elegant design objects, combined with personal objects that the owners brought as a souvenir from their vacation in Central and South America.
