Chiusa della Vasca is situated in the Lazio region, about 40-60 minutes to the North East of Rome, amidst green rolling hills that are dotted with little towns and Franciscan sanctuaries; this area, known as Sabina, is renowned for its olive oil but is still quite undiscovered by tourists. The splendid Benedictine Abbey of St Mary of Farfa is only 5 km away, and the beautiful ancient small towns of Roccantica, Casperia, Toffia and Tarano can be reached in approximately 30 minutes, and also Rieti and its marvellous underground city are 30 minutes away. For those wishing to explore the Lazio countryside it is also possible to make excursions on horseback.
Chiusa della Vasca is a handsome country house with a large arched portico overlooking Farfa Abbey and the surrounding landscape. More than two hectares of ancient olive groves envelope the house, and in front of the portico lies a garden which is a true oasis of peace and tranquillity, where guests can relax and enjoy the refreshing large pool. Inside the house the rooms are bright and spacious, and the hotel’s visitors are welcomed into a large sitting room with warm wood floors and French windows. Every single detail of the interior design has been carefully chosen by the owners to create a beautiful, comfortable environment: antique furniture and lamps, elegant furnishings and objects decorate the guest rooms and the communal areas alike. The buffet breakfast, prepared with fresh products typical of Lazio, is served on the veranda or in the dining room.
There are three guest rooms at Chiusa della Vasca, evocatively named Lavanda (Lavender), Ricamatrice (Embroiderer) and Viaggiatore (Traveller). They are light and airy, with a small sitting area by the independent entrance, access to the garden and free Wi-Fi.
