Ca’ Orologio is only 300 m away from Baone, a little town in the province of Padua.  It enjoys a beautiful situation and provides ease of access to some of the attractions of the Veneto region: the striking Euganean Hills, on which slopes stand  the delightful towns of Monselice, Este and Arquà Petrarca, are just 10 minutes away, while the historic cities of Padua, Venice and Verona can be reached, respectively, in 30, 45 and 60 minutes.

First and foremost, Ca’ Orologio is a vine growing and wine making establishment, born of the passion and enthusiasm of the owner, Signora Maria, and her husband, who are dedicated to viticulture and to the making of wine of the best quality using only natural methods.  Their wine is in fact one of the most distinguished in Veneto. Besides, they open the doors of their Baone wine resort to guests, and have become known for their hospitality and affability.  Set in the verdant Euganean Hills Regional Park, the holiday farm of Ca’ Orologio offers a relaxing stay in the midst of nature.  The country house was built in the 16th century and belonged to a noble family; in 2002 it was completely and exquisitely restored and is now a splendid, comfortable Veneto villa, with a definite charm in part due to the materials and colours used to repair it, in keeping with its original design.  The building still consists of 2 spaces: the main body of the building and the “barchessa”, an edifice with working and living quarters which was typical of the villas of the region, characterised by an arched portico.  On the slopes of the Euganean Hills is the “brolo”, the piece of land that Signora Maria tends to and which has an orchard, a vegetable garden, vines and olive trees.

Ca’ Orologio has spacious rooms and apartments, 7 in all.  They are different from one another, but they all have exposed wood beams and antique furniture.  Late in the afternoon guests are invited to try the house wine.  Breakfast is rich and good, and there are a pool and a children’s play area that complete Ca’ Orologio and make it truly comfortable.
