Villa Pardi “Il Giardino dei Ciliegi” is located in the small town of Manoppello in the Abruzzo region, 257 m above sea level. There you can find an interesting church of the 13th century dedicated to Saint Nicholas and traditional workshops manufacturing iron and copper.
The area is also well-known for the Sanctuary of the Holy Face, whose name is due to a veil bearing the imprint of Jesus’s face that is kept there. The property is in an enviable position, close to the mountains and the sea. It is located a few hundred meters from the border of the Maiella National Park and is close to the Abruzzo National Park, the Gran Sasso area is only 30 minutes away by car. Also worth seeing are the nearby limestone caves towards Passo Lanciano, the Reserves of the Orta and Ofanto Valleys. The area is loved by free climbers. The sea is also just 25 minutes away by car, the wonderful Costa dei Trabocchi is about 45 km away.

Villa Pardi “Il Giardino dei Ciliegi” is an “albergo diffuso”, a hotel that comprises three buildings: a small country house built in the second half of the 18th century where the Pardi family, well-known in Abruzzo, resided in the summer months; a farmhouse, probably contemporary or perhaps even older than the country house; and a dwelling built on the site of the ancient Manoppello ice house which was erected in 1947, together with the new wing of the country house, by Grand Officer Manlio Pardi, the grandfather of the current owner Emanuele. Manlio Pardi trained as a solicitor and from those years until the 1970s headed a tobacco company that dealt with its cultivation and manufacture and employed about 50 people. Emanuele’s parents restored the three buildings in 2000 and transformed them into a Agriturismo. The name “Il Giardino dei Ciliegi” is a tribute to The Cherry Orchard play by Chekhov and to the beautiful grandmother, Princess Kety Mkheidzè, who fled her beloved Georgia when the Red Army took over. She used to say that this place reminded her of the suggestive beauty of her country’s hills.

More recently, the property was converted into an Albergo Diffuso with Restaurant. Villa Pardi – Il Giardino dei Ciliegi dominates the farmhouse, with its large arches on the façade, on an estate of more than hundred hectares with vineyards, olive groves and the outdoor swimming pool. The rooms are very large and are equipped with their own bathroom and air conditioning system. They are all furnished rustic or antique furniture and walls painted with soft colors and have a beautiful view over the Abruzzo hills. Separated from the central body of the Villa and immersed in the greenery of the centuries-old garden, they guarantee peace and tranquility. They offer solutions from two to four beds or more spacious such as suites and mini-apartments. The staff offers you a range of services and can book excursions with specialized guides in various types of activities: trekking, e-bike, sailing, motorbike on road and off road.
