La Querceta di Marnacchia is located on top of the hill of the same name in Amandola in the high valley of Tenna. From there you have easy access to the National Park of Sibillini Mountains in Marche. There are many opportunities for spending time in a pleasant way: day trips to the park, wine tasting tours, cultural tours to Fermo, Macerata and beautiful Ascoli Piceno.

Giovanna Galbiati, the owner of La Querceta di Marnacchia, tells how it happened that she changed her life: “For more than fifteen years I had been looking for a country house where I could spend the holidays with my family. After much wandering in central Italy, a friend gave me a tip and a phone number. I called and a gentleman told me that he had discovered a marvellous place in Marche. I travelled to Amandola, accompanied by my husband Victor. It was dark when we arrived, but as soon as we opened the windows of our hotel room in the morning, we were immediately struck by the beauty of the Sibellini Mountains. In addition to that we met people who made us feel at home from the very first day.

After some research we found the house of my dreams on the Marnacchia Hill with a view to the Sibillini Mountains. Thanks to a wise and loving restoration that dream turned into reality. For me, however, with each time it became more and more difficult to part from the beauty, from the light and from the intense colour of the region and to return to the drabness of the North and of my school which I did not like any more.

So one night I made a dramatic decision: I would change my life and go to Marche! I quit my job and we opened a small part of the village of Marnacchia to hospitality and I turned into a host. Today I am also an enthusiastic ambassador of this part of the Marche. I tell my guests about sorceresses, knights errant and necromancers. I make them work with eggs and flour to get scented fregnacce, I send them into the woods with our dog Roy in order to look for excellent truffles. I tempt them with the fragrance of a homemade pie with old plum jam or pink apples and invite them to dip their hands and faces in the incredible rose water prepared for the night of St John….”

In addition to the stone house with four suites, a living room with fire place and lounges, La Querceta di Marnacchia also includes La Ginestra, a small independent house created from the old barn and a woodshed.
