I Carcioni B&B is located in the picturesque village of Belgirate, on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Piedmont. Perched on a hillside, it enjoys the most spectacular views of the lake. This area, known as the Italian Lake District, is famous for its lovely little beaches and villas, the boat trips and its clubs and restaurants that serve delicious fish dishes. From Belgirate one can easily reach Stresa, a beautiful and renowned resort town from whose jetty boats head for the Borromean Islands, carrying visitors to explore their magnificent palaces and luxuriant gardens. Arona, another attractive town by the lake over which rises the dominating statue of Saint Charles Borromeo, is ideal for a stroll on the lakefront; on the opposite side of the bank is Angera, with its medieval Fortress which holds exhibitions and events.
I Carcioni B&B, situated on a hill terrace, is a reminder of the ancient farming tradition of the area, where wine production and stock breeding are still predominant. In memory of their ancestors’ hard work and in acknowledgment of the generosity of this fertile land, I Carcioni’s proprietors have maintained some farm articles on the property, including some cows’ troughs. Staying at this elegant, comfortable B&B, set in the middle of a tranquil countryside, guests will experience the all-year-round attraction of Lake Maggiore and learn about its history. In fact I Carcioni is open from January to December: in summer visitors can take a dip in the splendid panoramic pool, which is shared with the guests of Paola’s, a villa just a few steps away which belongs to the same owners as I Carcioni B&B; but in the cold months of winter its guests will gather indoors around the fireplace, and relax.
There are two rooms at I Carcioni B&B: Americana, complete with terrace overlooking Lake Maggiore, is a double room but it can accommodate two more beds and up to four people; Bonarda has a balcony at the rear of the property and looks out over a beautiful garden and the surrounding countryside with its century-old trees. This too is a double room, very spacious, and can sleep up to four people also; together with Americana, it is furnished with shabby chic solid wood furniture and capacious wardrobes, and decorated with light colours. Both rooms are bright and are provided with free Wi-Fi connection, a minibar and independent air-conditioning units; the bathrooms have Jacuzzi showers, and plenty of soft towels and toiletries. In summer, a sumptuous breakfast buffet is laid out on the terrace or in the breakfast room when the weather turns cold. The owners of I Carcioni and Paola’s have created a small lovely wooden house in their garden, Il Fienile, ideal for couples. Furbished in a warm and cosy style and fully equipped, it has a magnificent view over the lake.
