The beauties of Liguria

A pleasant sojourn at Ca di Tobia, located in Liguria, in Noli (in the District of Savona, more precisely in Riviera di Ponente), will give you the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful places of Liguria.

Noli

Noli, which used to be a main town of Liguria, is located in the Riviera ligure di ponente in the district of Savona. In Roman times, it was a municipality, then it became a Byzantine facility, afterwards a Langobardic possession, to finally come under the Charlemagne’s rule. In 1099, Noli had the glory to be part of the First Crusade, due to its important and numerous  pools.

After that event, Noli achieved great privileges, both political and commercial. Today, it is a pleasant town to visit, starting right from its interesting old town, inside which both the astonishing Co-Cathedral of San Pietro and the incredible Oratory of Sant’Anna arise, the former from the XIII Century and the latter from the XVIII Century. Of particular interest are the Church of San Paragorio, the Town Hall, and   Viale-Salvarezza Palace.

Borgio Verezzi

Rated as one of the most beautiful hamlets of Italy, Borgio Verezzi, located in the District of Savona, is composed of two main hamlets, Borgio and Verezzi, and of some other housing units.

Most of its fame is also due to the presence of some accessible grottos, which are known as Valdemino, discovered in 1933, representing a perfect model of the karst phenomenon that has been developing for thousands of years.

Amongst the places that should be visited, some stand out: the Church of St. Peter from 1789, built on the ruins of the castle of the Burgum Albinganeum, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Good Counsel and the Church of Bishop San Martino.
