Relais Villa Roncuzzi is situated in a beautiful and tranquil landscape in Emilia Romagna, between the cultural cities of Ravenna and Faenza, both twenty-minute drive. Ravenna with its Byzantine mosaics is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Faenza is worldwide known for the art of majolica. Just twenty-minute drive further, you reach Brisighella, the stunning medieval village on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and the thermal baths of Castrocaro, well-known for its sodium chloride and iodide healthy waters since the 19th century. The Adriatic seashores and the Regional Park of Delta del Po (Po River Delta) with its variety of plants and animals are also close.

The owner of the Relais Villa Roncuzzi is a contemporary art gallerist and her passion shines through this country house. “The hotel is dedicated to art and culture, when I first started I wished my guests could get to know the heritage of the innermost part of Romagna, its rich soil, excellent wines and fine food, history, art and architecture. The Relais Villa Roncuzzi dates back to the beginning of the 19th century, my family bought this country residence from the Carmelites nuns from Ravenna.”

Romagna countryside offers a quiet and peaceful stay, surrounded by an immense and carefully-tended green garden among vineyards, fruit trees and sunflower fields, the silence is broken only by the sound of water gushing from the fountain at the entrance. Thanks to the accuracy during the restoration works, the two-floor Relais Villa Roncuzzi boasts an unmatched elegance with its original decorations, stone details, arches and wooden beams, natural colours and materials. In the whole property art is brought to life. Twenty-two elegant and well-refined rooms have their own individual style with fine fabrics and textiles and soft wall colours. In every room pieces of art are on display – paintings or statues – perfectly matching with modern complements and 1920s or 1930s furniture. The veranda on the ground floor floods with natural daylight through huge windows and guests can start their day with a buffet breakfast made of a rich variety of Italian specialties, relax by the outdoor pool in the garden and, when it gets darker, taste a wide selection of well-known local and Italian wines at the onsite cellar or seep a cocktail at the bar “Le Agavi”.
