Tenuta La Romana is located 250 meters above sea level. It is in the middle of a square formed clockwise by Alexandria, Acqui Terme, Alba and Asti. The territory, thanks to the valuable vineyards Monferrato, Langhe and Roero, is part of the UNESCO cultural heritage of the world for red wines and sparkling wines. Here, six million years ago, there was a sea; it receded to the current Ligurian Riviera – a hundred miles from here. In addition to the vineyards of Barbera, the lands of Nizza Monferrato in Piedmont are very valuable for the production of hazelnuts from Piedmont IGT and famouscardoons.
The Nicese building of Tenuta La Romana is perched on the hills of the Langhe and Monferrato in Piedmont . Originally, in the eighteenth century, it was a farmstead for breeding thoroughbred. The name “La Romana” comes from L’Arman-na, given by the previous owners, the Calamandrana counts, in memory of Rome, which was so dear to them. Carefully restored with respect to the original architecture, the construction of two floors opens to the outside with huge arched windows from the floor to the ceiling on one side to a pergola and pool. You can walk all around the large property with old trees, and squirrels live undisturbed. Even the children at Tenuta La Romana and its surroundings can find inspiration for various activities.
The interior of Tenuta La Romana is very bright with large wooden ceilings covered by frescoes, spacious lounges that lend themselves to multiple uses.
Guests can choose from twenty units: rooms, suites, junior suites and apartments, all furnished with classic wooden furniture, curtains with rich drapery, wrought iron beds. You can also eat at the restaurant “La Riserva del Gusto” of the farm, by reservation, and sample local products prepared according to traditional recipes of Langhe and Monferrato .
