Relais Villa Gesi

Via Ca' Righetto, 19 , Negrar (VR) , -
Rooms: 5 / Opening dates : 15 March - 15 November from € 130 - to € 150

The Relais Villa Gesi allows visitors to reach  Lake Garda in about thirty minutes – in fact  in a perfect triangle Negrar would be on the vertex between Bardolino and Lazise, on the Venetian side. Verona, which belongs to the UNESCO world heritage, is just 10 kilometres away. We are in the middle of the hilly area of Valpolicella that is crossed by many streams. But for the most part, it is covered by fine vineyards. Already Vergil and Sueton praised the qualities of the “Retico wine”. Today, the first place belongs to red wines such as the Recioto and the Amarone, which should be tasted at the local wine cooperatives. About 50 kilometres from here, nature lovers could reach Giazza and enter the National Park of Lessinia that has bridges, natural caves, and sinkholes.

Patrizia and Beppe are the owners of Relais Villa Gesi, and their “guests are not mere numbers, but friends who deserve to have all the attentions they need. We personally care for them, baking bread, cookies and sweets for their breakfast and serving them the red wine from our beloved Valpolicella. We are always available to suggest and advise food-and-wine tours and samples at the wine cooperatives, or the many cultural itineraries around here, depending on the interests of our guests”. Mrs Patrizia used to run a chocolate-shop in Genova, and thanks to this former experience, she created a particular chocolate (sweet), the “ciccolavino”. It is a chocolate filled with Amarone, a perfect blend between the dark chocolate and the delicious flavour of Amarone wine, result of innumerable tests and tastes, and the contribution of an expert maître de chocolat.

Relais Villa Gesi is an ancient two-floor country mansion, built in white stone, and renovated following the decrees of bio-architecture. It encloses four spacious rooms, some of which have exposed stone and wooden beams; all of them have parquets and French furniture from the Eighteenth Century. On the ground floor, besides the living room with a fireplace, there is a large bright patio: it is enjoyable in any season and suitable to restaurant services, it reaches to the cherry-tree garden that surrounds Villa Gesi. Wi-Fi is available in any common area.
