La Perazzeta is in Gradoli on Lake Bolsena, in an area of Lazio known as Tuscia, which is a strategic position to visit the sites of the Etruscans. In fact the landscape is dotted with Etruscan but also Medieval towns, all within easy reach: beside Gradoli, Civita, Bagnoreggio, Tuscania, Montefiascone, Tarquinia and Pitigliano, renowned for its Carnival. Bolsena town, with its lake of volcanic origin which is the largest in Europe, is extremely close, and Orvieto, a Unesco Heritage Site that attracts numerous visitors, is only a little further away. The Tyrrhenian coast is not far either, and the Via Francigena meanders near the border with Tuscany, a mere km away from La Perazzeta.
Gradoli is one of the towns situated around the Lake Bolsena , and La Perazzeta has a panoramic view over its shimmering waters. Once a farmhouse, La Perazzeta was restored 15 years ago and converted into a holiday farm 12 years later; it is set in a garden blooming with flowers, surrounded by woodland and an olive grove that slopes away to the lake. Its guests can soak in the panorama from the patio, while enjoying their buffet breakfast, and take the sun on the terrace until dusk descends. The interior is welcoming, decorated in a comfortable country style; there is a lounge with a small library, a snack bar where one can taste the wines of the Lazio region or enjoy an afternoon coffee, and a small heated indoor pool with a jacuzzi.
The outbuildings of the old farm were also converted: the cowshed behind the main building of La Perazzeta was redesigned and divided into 4 rooms that look out over the garden; the structure where the pigs were reared, which used to stand about 20 m away from the farmhouse, was converted into 2 superior type rooms with views of the lake. The rooms are bright, their walls painted with soft colours, and decorated with stone finishings; the floors are laid with fired earth tiles and the ceilings are traversed by exposed beams. Free Wi Fi connection is available.
