Casa Bellavista

Località Creti Case Sparse 40, (SI) -
Rooms: 4 / Opening dates: April - October from € 135 - to € 190

B&B Casa Bellavista is situated between Siena and Perugia, high on a hill over Cortona, a beautiful medieval fortified town whose origins go all the way back to the Etruscan period.  This is Valdichiana, a gentle rolling valley in the midst of hills draped with fields that turn from green to gold with the passing of the seasons.  Scattered among the countryside are a myriad of picturesque villages and towns: Sinalunga and Torrita di Siena are about 20 km away, while Pienza and the spa towns of Chianciano and Rapolano Terme are nearly 30 km distant, just to name a few.

B&B Casa Bellavista is a country house with a spectacular view, hence its name.  It is set deep in a large garden lush with flowers and plants, olive trees that produce excellent extra virgin olive oil and fruit trees laden with delicious fruits; the garden is also suitable for all outdoor activities and equipped with a beautiful pool and Jacuzzi.  From the top of the hill where B&B Casa Bellavista sits the vista over Cortona, known as the “Pearl of Tuscany” for its loveliness, and the surrounding countryside is simply breathtaking.  The owners have a great love for their natural environment and are keen on preserving it: solar panels have been installed to generate power for the house; their produce is sourced locally, mostly from organic farmers, and every scrap of kitchen waste is composted.  Even in the bathroom sustainability is kept in mind, and only refillable toiletries are chosen. Casa Bellavista is decorated with great care and taste; warm colours on the walls create a comforting and welcoming space.  There is a large living area, and a sitting room where the guests will relax and listen to music, perhaps while waiting for dinner to be served.  Simonetta, the chef, not only prepares delicious meals using the products from her kitchen garden, she also organises cooking lessons and olive oil tasting sessions on request for her visitors.  Breakfast is served in the portico, where the buffet table is spread with all sorts of good things: homemade cakes, organic jams and honey, cold meats and cheeses, cereals and fresh fruit.

The four guest rooms at B&B Casa Bellavista are furnished with antiques, wood and iron bedsteads, and elegant soft furnishings to offer the best balance of comfort and warmth.
